Bruno wears a "weird" hat, but his friend Peter doesn't even notice it... until the other kids say Peter is weird by association. That's when Peter dumps Bruno and starts hanging around with the bullies. Eventually, Peter sees the error of his ways, repents, restores his friendship with Bruno, and even turns the tables on the bullies.
