When Thomas Hardisty Campbell (1907-1989) wrote Good News on the Frontier in the early-1960s it is unlikely that he imagined the book would still be in print fifty years later. Good News on the Frontier was written to be a Cumberland Presbyterian companion volume to Through the Ages, the Covenant Life Curriculum course devoted to broader church history, in 1964. It quickly captured the affection of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination. Even though a much more comprehensive church history, A People Called Cumberland Presbyterian, was published in 1972, many people still look to Good News as an effective overview and easy study.
