When Thomas Hardisty Campbell (1907-1989) wrote Good News on the Frontier in the early-1960s it is unlikely that he imagined the book would still be in print fifty years later. Good News on the Frontier was written to be a Cumberland Presbyterian companion volume to Through the Ages, the Covenant Life Curriculum course devoted to broader church history, in 1964. It quickly captured the affection of the Cumberland Presbyterian denomination. Even though a much more comprehensive church history, A People Called Cumberland Presbyterian, was published in 1972, many people still look to Good News as an effective overview and easy study. Good News divides the history of the denomination into 13 weekly lessons. A leader's guide is also available in this web store, making it easy to use this book for a small group or Sunday school class, or even your Sunday night or mid-week study time.
