Caroline Miller Blakely (1924-2018) had an interesting life. She attended McKenzie High School, Bethel College in McKenzie, Tennessee (now Bethel University), and the Cumberland Presbyterian Theological Seminary (now Memphis Theological Seminary). This was at a time when most theological seminaries did not yet admit women.

Blakely, who studied journalism, tells her story in a strait-forward journalistic style. She was the daughter of the woman for whom the Mary Elliot Miller award at Memphis Theological Seminary is named; the award goes to an outstanding female student every year.
