It's America in the 1800s and people are serious about "keeping the Sabbath". That's a problem for Peter. On Sundays after church he is in charge of his little brother, Luke. All Luke wants to do is play with toys, but that's forbidden on Sundays; he is, instead, supposed to teach Luke the Bible. In the woodshed on one rainy day, however, Peter realizes that God's words to Noah long ago are God's words to him, too, and he comes up with a way to "keep the Sabbath" while letting Luke play with toys in a new way.
